Hotel Krivajaa

The settlement Krivaje is on the territory of the community Backa Topola, on the highlands of Telecka which are 115 meters high above the sea level , with a marvelous environment of the river Krivaja, and the artificial lake as well as the hilly countryside. Krivaja is a place that is very well planned and urbanized that takes after its peculiar park where you find a fine composition of great grassy lands
(lawns) and a great variety of trees and other vegetation..

The town of Backa Topola is the closest town ,12 km away, then from Sombor Krivaja is about 32 km, and it is 45 km away from Subotica . Block of flats and other buildings are mainly located around the demesne with a castle which is in the valley where a stream also called Krivaja flows. A modern new developed worker men`s area can be found on the area of the agricultural estate “Krivaja”, here are farms rich in tradition of farming( soil cultivation), pig-breeding, cattle-breeding and sheep-breeding. The estate of Krivaja was operated by the state until the year 1957.
The settlement has about 1000 inhabitants of mixed (heterogeneous) ethnic structure of Serbs, Hungarians, Croatians, and other nationalities. Today the estate is in private hands with the tendency of re-animating the old castle and all the other tourist sights which are many and various here.

Right next to the hotel is a bowling alley which is modern and automatic and it has four lanes (tracks) available, there is a bodybuilding club, too and in the same building you can find a neat, well arranged business room that has good conditions for meetings , and there is a conference hall with 300 seats and a cinema screen size of linen. Next to the hotel is the old Castle of the Fenbah family, that was built in a neoclassical style and which will be re-arranged (altered ) to the hotel for further use .

Close to the hotel is a park which is under governmental protection. of 3rd category with a forest of oak trees , elm trees , horse chestnuts, and other .The 400m path through the park is ideal for walking and jogging and it leads to the fishing lake that is surrounded with lawn regularly taken care of.. Another beautiful natural sight is the valley called Pilak which is ideal for golf and it is full of a big variety of herbs. Some researches of the area report the possibility of warm, medical water sources and this opens an opportunity towards developments here and also of a hydropathic establishment . There is a 4km tunnel here in which people were living a long time ago and it` s interesting from an archeological and speleological aspect. The settlement has three football fields with quality grass and excellent drainage and besides of these there is a basketball course open to the air but also one that is covered.

Next to the hotel there is a playground where kids can have fun. There is a health center , a post office, a hair-dresser `s saloon , a shop and a petrol station very close to the hotel. Despite of its size if we consider its tourist potential and beauty Krivaja has great possibilities for developments on sport and recreational fields just as in fishing, scientific researches, organizing conferences and in other forms of tourism.

….There is a tale that people here always remind us to and according to it there are fairies flying here and there in the forest creating the magical feeling of happiness by their scents , the marvelous song of birds and by the fresh and clean air and these all can paint us the picture of the time when the countess of the castle with her fan in her hands was sitting in a boat ,floating on the lake and enjoying the sunshine.
